The up-and-coming artist from South Africa returned with his first release in 2 years. Unleashing his full potential here, his synonymous reverb soaked guitars fill the air to introduce the track, and Manny Walters wastes no time in hitting you with his groundbreaking vocals that you simply just have to hear for yourself. Reminiscent of early Leon Bridges and Michael Kiwanuka in this one, ‘No Reason’ is catchy, full of rhythms and a brilliant brass section that really ensues that upbeat, inspirational tone.
The alt-soul singer-songwriter grew up listening to big names such as Tracy Chapman and Lenny Kravitz, hence developing an understanding for soul and rock music, and was infatuated by the genre bending music of that time that meant something way more than just a song. He then went on a journey of self discovery, keeping in hand his way of upbringing and started performing in cafes and bars around Cape Town, playing his trade.

Manny is not new to the music scene. He started his relationship with music back in high school and has been performing all around Cape Town since 2010, right after he finished university.
One thing led to another and he bought his first airplane tickets to perform in other South African cities. Slowly making a name for himself in the music scene, in 2017, he was invited by Sofar Sounds to sing during their inaugural event in Cape Town. This was the first real connection Manny had with an international audience and it allowed him to expand his horizon with new listeners from all around the world. For Manny, “This performance would be the most significant of my career till this point, connecting me and my sound with listeners from all over the world.”
This allowed him to get booked for bigger shows all around South Africa and a few years later, the singer got international recognition through his performance at Sziget Music Festival in Budapest, Hungary.
During the pandemic, Manny Walters put his performances on hold, spending time to reflect on himself and writing new music. After his new single ‘No Reason‘ a few months go, we’re sure that the artist has a lot coming soon for our greatest pleasure.
