Succeeding the highly-praised singles ‘High Tones’ and ‘whatstheuse’, Cassia return with a spirited journey of optimism in the face of adversity on ‘Find My Way Around’. Fuelled, by bouncing, plucky guitar basslines and riffs and uplifting, soaring choruses, Cassia show that they are open to change and content with the unknown through their signature joyful sonic lens and grooving rhythms. Explorative verses are a well-made match for the richly-harmonic choruses, assuring us that Cassia will always find their way around- and maybe we will too.

Fresh off a UK tour with Circa Waves, a string of dates supporting Bastille and headlining Kendall Calling’s ‘Calling Out’ stage, Cassia have had a summer to remember. Previous singles ‘High Tones’ and ‘whatstheuse’ saw Cassia return stronger than ever, with support from the likes of Radio 1 (x12 plays), Notion, Wonderland, The Independent, Clash, Ones To Watch, Earmilk, MTV and more. ‘High Tones’ was also added to Radio X’s Xposure list, performed at TRNSMT Festival, available to watch now on BBC iPlayer, and added to Sunday Brunch’s playlist. Cassia are also set to take to the airwaves with a live session on BBC Radio 1’s Future Sounds show in September.

On the new single, frontman Rob Ellis reveals:

Find My Way Around is about embracing change and reshaping our mindset regularly. I always see it as if our minds are pliable like play-dough, bending and adapting to our surroundings, which sometimes is really hard. When writing the lyrics, it was going through my head about the times I’ve had to reinvent myself. It’s a reminder of the fluid nature of existence to myself, whether it’s redefining my identity or navigating relationships. I think this resonates universally, as most people probably encounter these moments at least a couple of times in their life. It’s a very poignant message for me and I’m really proud of it

Complimenting the explorative new single is the band’s second music video shot on film, this time on 16mm, presenting a beguiling storyline- as Cassia’s visuals seamlessly blend retro charm with contemporary storytelling. The video is set in the picturesque seaside town of Tenby, Wales, where the characters, played by Cassia themselves, break away from their mundane routines and open themselves up to the unknown, complete with sweeping shots of the area and beautifully-crafted interior aesthetics.

Rob’s time spent travelling is reflected in the visuals and marketing campaign, with travel snaps taken on the music video set by the band themselves will be sent to fans who pre-save the track.

Listen to ‘Find My Way Around':

Cassia have come a long way from their start to life in Macclesfield, near Manchester, where their seaside town sound started in a small market town. 2017 saw the release of their debut single ‘100 Times Over’, a dreamy, addictive guitar track with shades of Vampire Weekend and a wiggling rhythm hinting at the group’s Afro-Caribbean influences, stemming from Rob’s dad having grown up in Zambia and bringing home his record collection for Rob to listen to as a child.

Since then, they’ve released two albums and in recent years have been touring relentlessly around Europe and the UK with their hard work rewarded with a live session at BBC Radio 1’s Maida Vale Studios. They now prepare to support Bastille and Circa Waves and return to the main stage at festivals this summer. With two ‘Hottest Records’ to their name thanks to DJs like Annie Mac, Clara Amfo, Jack Saunders, Mollie King and Maia Beth, the band is now ready to release a new EP.

With over 60 million Spotify streams to their name, ample support from DSPs across editorial playlists, a recent sold-out show at Koko in London and fans at The Independent, Wonderland, Notion, Ones To Watch, Clash, Earmilk and Radio 1, Cassia is poised to take their radiating joy to audiences all over. The new EP promises to soundtrack summers all over the world, engaging all audiences and getting people out of their chairs and into the world with a beaming smile on their face. Whatever comes next, you should be ready for it to do the same to you.
