Luchi is returning with a new single entitled “Things He Handed Down.” “Things He Handed Down” merges heartwarming, immersive and infectious together perfectly. Featuring stripped back instrumentation and soulful vocal lines, the track is sure to pull you in and touch your soul. Vulnerability can be found within the single which will be sure to bridge the gap between his audience and him as Luchi emotionally opens up.

Growing up in Glasgow with his Italian family, his music takes inspiration from everywhere. It’s clear to see he’s perfected his craft, writing songs from the age of 13. His first single “Don’t Look Back” stormed into No.9 on the iTunes Singer/Songwriter Charts, while his third single “Coming Home” was comfortably sitting at No.2 just a few months later. Since then he has had a further 10 singles hit the top 10 on the iTunes Singer/Songwriter Charts.

However, it’s clear to see he’s not doing this for fame, money or even recognition. Music is therapy for him, a form of an expression and an art form to find solace in. “All the songs I release start from a true life story from my life and I try to write in an honest and vulnerable way. As humans we all go through different situations but underneath, we all feel the same emotions so I hope to bring some healing through my music”

Listen to 'Things He Handed Down':

Speaking about this, he says: “This was one of those songs that wrote itself really. In about 15 minutes after hearing the piano part my collaborator Jiro sent me, I had the song written. He lives in Japan so I had the initial demo finished by the time he woke up the next day. It just flowed out of me and came from my inner child.

It’s about generational abuse and trauma in families and explores the things that are handed down through generations and questions why this happens. When I listened back to the song the first time, I was so proud and felt really emotional for the child inside me. I have been able to work through a lot of my traumas and I feel this song is giving a voice to my inner child. This song is one that is from my inner child to any other person that suffered abuse and hopefully makes them feel less alone.

The thinking behind releasing it on Fathers Day is that it isn’t always a happy day for everyone and a lot of memories can be triggered so again, I wanted people to not feel so alone on a day that can often come with a lot of emotions good and bad.”

‘Things He Handed Down’ is now available on all platforms, don’t hesitate to listen.
